Building Information Modelling technologies have developed rapidly in recent years, allowing us to utilise the power of BIM for our residential projects. We have been collaborating with BTA Structural Engineers on a 3D model of the house. Currently at the steel analysis stage. BIM models are embedded with data about materials, performance and quality, forming a 3D database of quantifyable information.
SOUP are please to have acheived planning approval for a new build house on a tight, 56 sq metre urban site in the London Borough of Lambeth.
The site is in an established Conservation Area near Brixton Road and sits between a Grade II listed building to the East and a 3 to 4 storey housing estate to the West and South.
The conversion of the existing garage site will provide living accomodation orientated around a south west courtyard on the Ground Floor with additional external space provided on the Roof and two double bedrooms provided at First Floor.
SOUP commissioned award wining artist Aaron Yeandle to photograph a recently completed project in Alderney in the Channel Islands. He spent the weekend on the island documenting, experimenting and creating some unique views of the house. His photos breaks many of the traditional architectural photography 'rules' and forms an interesting in-use narrative. More of his work will follow.
Soup have secured planning permission for a new one-off house in rural Buckinghamshire.

We've been in Suffolk this last month reviewing the completion of works to our La Remise project.
The major refurbishment of the existing shingle clad house, included a new summer house to the rear garden and were completed by Robert Norman Construction.
The visit also gave us a chance to see our RIBA Award winning Studios in full use. The Studios are remotely located from the main house and it was a joy to see the landscaping maturing nicely around the buildings.
Works advancing well on site. Externally the curved ground floor wall nears completion as shown in the photograph from under the first floor overhang. More details on the project can be found hear: http://souparchitects.com/sarnia-cottage-1
It's wonderful to see all 3 RIBA Award plaques together before they go off to be installed in their respective homes.

Sarnia Cottage has advanced massively over the past few weeks. We are pleased to see the majority of the steels in place bringing to life the new extension.
