Soup Architects have obtained planning approval for a major remodel and extension to an existing collection of barns in Suffolk. The converted barns form a three sided courtyard bound from the street by a brick garden wall.
The proposals look to reconfigure the internal arrangement to make better connection to the central south facing courtyard and open up to the wilder rear garden to the north.

Soup Architects has obtained planning approval for a new build house in the heart of the coastal town of Aldeburgh, Suffolk.
The contemporary building will replace an existing house on a prominant corner site and provides a modern home set over 3 levels within a well established victorian context. The split volume arrangement will reduce the impact the house has on its neighbours and allows the flexible ground floor living areas to open out onto a newly landscaped private garden. Onto the street, the angled elevation is staggered to maintain the open feel to the street corner and allows spectacular sea views over the roofline of Aldeburgh.
Works are due to start on site in Q3 2016.
Were now three weeks into the Sarnia Cottage renovation and the project is quickly shaping. The extensions foundations have been dug and are due to be filled, whilst the interior of the existing house has been completly gutted and is ready for the structure to be ammended.
