Job Description: Part Two / Newly Qualified Architect at SOUP Architects

Position Overview: As an experienced Part Two/Qualified Architect at SOUP Architects London studio, you will play a crucial role in our small design team, contributing to the development and execution of architectural projects. Working under the direct guidance of senior architects and Directors across our two studios, you will be responsible for various tasks throughout the design and construction process. This position offers an excellent opportunity to enhance your skills and gain practical experience in a collaborative and innovative architectural practice.

The successful candidate will lead a variety of projects at all RIBA Stages. Our projects range from whole-house transformations and low-energy retrofits to one-off private houses and housing developments.

Key Responsibilities:

Design Development: Collaborate with the team to develop design concepts, prepare design drawings, and contribute to the creation of architectural presentations.

Technical Documentation: Prepare and assist in the production of detailed architectural drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, and details. Ensure that drawings are accurate, coordinated, and comply with relevant building codes and regulations.

3D Modelling and Visualization: Utilize software tools to create 3D models, renderings, and visualizations of architectural designs. Contribute to the production of high-quality visual materials for client presentations, competitions, and marketing purposes.

Building Information Modelling (BIM): Assist in the development and maintenance of BIM models for projects. Collaborate with the team to ensure accurate and coordinated information within the BIM environment.

Coordination and Communication: Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and other project stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination of project requirements. Attend project meetings and contribute to the resolution of design and construction issues.

Research and Development: Stay updated with current architectural trends, materials, and technologies. Conduct research and contribute to the development of innovative design solutions. Share knowledge and ideas with the team.

Construction Administration: Assist in the preparation of construction documents, review submittals, and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs). Conduct site visits to monitor project progress and ensure compliance with the design intent.

Team Collaboration: Collaborate with the design team, including architects, engineers, and other professionals, fostering a positive and creative work environment. Contribute to design reviews and critiques, providing constructive feedback and suggestions.

Requirements:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or a related field.

Part Two Architectural qualification or equivalent, demonstrating a strong foundation in architectural design and technical skills and post-qualification experience.

RIBA Part 3 Qualification.

Proficiency in relevant architectural software tools, such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.

Strong graphic presentation skills and the ability to communicate design ideas effectively.

Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and construction techniques.

Excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate and coordinated architectural drawings.

Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Effective time management and organizational abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
