As a rapidly expanding IT service provider, Resolution IT required a new 800m2 high quality modern office space that allowed them plenty of space for future growth.

It needed to reflect the modern working environment with interior flexibility, seemless integration of technology and highly configurable heating and cooling systems whilst bringing nature and natural light into the workspace, and being welcoming and inspiring.

This allowed for the inclusion of areas such as a gym, privacy areas, kitchen, shower rooms, breakout spaces and games areas to allow employees to have downtime and feel happy and comfortable in their working environment.

The existing space was restricted by deep steel beams that cut across the space from 1.8 metres at the edges to 2.7 metres in the centre and created a series of six bays with no natural light. Designed as a series of multifunctional open bays, each one is given a large landscape format picture window to maximise natural daylight and views. Each bay is accessed from a central route through the building which also contains meeting rooms and breakout areas for group working sessions.

We developed design opportunities from the initial restrictions of the roof structure which drove the planning of the spaces and setting out of the services and lighting. Given its context, the interior design suited an industrial aesthetic with a domestic scale. Incorporating brand colours and ensuring the overall visual impact matched the company values and identity was considered at every step of the design process to ensure this once delapidated shed was transformed into a workplace of the future.
